Anybody ever see or hear from Mike? I know Booter and I tried many times to reach out through his parents in Port Jeff (NY), but nothing ever came of it.
Regis
Thanks for putting this together. I was on vacation last week and spent a night just reading. It brought back a load of memories.

Hey, Fellas. (Jesus, Bert. It has been nearly 20 years. Good to see your name on here.)
As for our boy, Marino, I have experienced the same frustration. Always liked the guy. In fact, Mike was one of the first guys I met when I first got down to school.
Quick story involving the Port Jeff. Flash. Mike, myself and some others ended up playing in a pick-up basketball game in the Robbins Center (for you young guns on the line, we're talking August 1984.) Even better, for those of you who have seen me play basketball, you can stop convulsing from laughter now!!
Anyway, since Marino and I always tended to resemble each other (Yes, paisons...back in the day I had a mop of jet black hair like the Port Jeff. Flash), the guys we were playing with kept getting us confused.
Of course, Mike "had game" and all I could do was throw the occasional elbow and maybe bang a little underneath, but still, we were constantly mistaken for each other. I'm not sure how Mike dealt with being called "Fish," on occasion, but as quiet as he was back then...you'd never know either way.
When Mike ended up pledging the next year, we were able to reconnect. Needless to say, those of you who knew him best...well...let's just say the guy got a lot louder! And when I think of that pledge class, I always remember Mike as a "loud leader," a guy that everybody liked and respected.
I'll do what I can to find him up here (I'm living in CT, still with some family out on Long Island) and will let you know when/if I do.
Thanks again to Steve for reopening the lines of communication. And thanks to Regis for playing host. Be well, boys. Look forward to catching up in the near future.
Best,
John Fischer
